Employees from the city of Wellington electric dept. attended the sixth annual KMU Lineman rodeo and workshop October 15th and 16th in McPherson KS. While there the city of Wellington maintained possession of the coveted traveling trophy for the second year in a row and for the fourth year overall. Over ten municipalities from across Kansas attended the two day workshop and rodeo. The morning of the first day was spent in educational workshops with the afternoon being devoted to the rodeo. Six two man teams competed for the traveling trophy and over 25 linemen freshened up their climbing skills in the rodeo. On the morning of the second day all lineman were split into three person teams and played electric quiz bowl to sharpen their knowledge skills. Attendees from the city of Wellington were Cliff Zens, John Bales, Randy Redford, Joe Jackson, Jason Rains and Brian Lewellen. Results for the six event rodeo were:
