A Message From The City Of Wellington Chief Of Police

Tracy Heath - Wellington Kansas Police Chief

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Wellington Police Department Online, where you can find out what the Wellington Police Department is doing to make this community a better place to live.

Wellington is an exciting town with an awesome community spirit, down-to-earth values, and a great place to raise a family. Located just 25 miles South of Wichita, where highways US 81 and US 160 intersect, and about 2 miles west of I-35, the City of Wellington is projected for some major growth, as Wichita and her suburbs continue to expand south.

At the Wellington Police Department our mission is to improve the quality of life and property, maintaining order, and reducing crime through education, awareness and prevention. To us, providing Police services is a lot more than just writing a ticket or taking a report; it means working with the community to prevent crime and solve community problems. The cooperative working relationship between police officers and the people we serve is improving everyday, and citizen confidence in the Police Department is the highest it has ever been.

In cooperation with the citizens, the men and women of the Wellington Police are committed to the Department's motto:

"An uncompromising commitment to public service excellence."

Please take a few minutes to learn more about WPD's programs and services. You will find that our members are a dedicated, well-trained and enthusiastic group of professionals who take pride in their work. They are ready to work with you to make your home, your workplace and this community an even better place to live.

Tracy Heath
Chief of Police
